THE CASSINI BUSINESS ACCELERATOR PROVIDES SUPPORT > TO EUROPEAN SPACE STARTUPS FOR THE GROWTH AND INNOVATION OF THE SECTOR

IT IS OPEN UNTIL 8 MARCH 2024 > THE SECOND EDITION OF THE CASSINI BUSINESS ACCELERATOR: the six-month Acceleration Program that offers Business and Investment Coaching - Training and Events.

THE ACCELERATOR OFFERS A FULL RANGE OF STRATEGIC SERVICES TO FOSTER: the development and success of participating businesses. In particular, it aims to support the commercial growth of space companies in the development phase that have already introduced products to the market and achieved sales or pre-commercial success.

THE PROGRAM THAT DEALS WITH: TERRESTRIAL OBSERVATION - SATELLITE NAVIGATION - CONNECTIVITY - RESEARCH AND INNOVATION IN THE SECTOR AND PROTECTION AND SECURITY OF COMMUNICATIONS

EU SPACE: 2021-2027

WHAT IT DOES DEAL WITH:

In April 2021, Regulation 2021/696 of the European Union was adopted, which establishes: the new Space Program of the European Union for the years 2021 to 2027, in force with retroactive effect on 1 January 2021.

IL REGOLAMENTO 2021/696 HA RAGGRUPPATO I PROGRAMMI DELL'UNIONE EUROPEA ESISTENTI QUALI > COPERNICUS - GALILEO ED EGNOS > INTRODUCENDO NUOVE COMPONENTI DI SICUREZZA: SSA, per il monitoraggio dei rischi spaziali, e GOVSATCOM, per l’accesso delle autorità nazionali a comunicazioni satellitari sicure.

INOLTRE > DA MARZO 2023: è stato adottato il Regolamento 2023/588, relativo al Programma dell'Unione Europea per una connettività sicura per il periodo 2023-2027, che introduce la componente IRIS². Tramite IRIS², l’Unione Europea potrà disporre di una costellazione di satelliti per fornire servizi di comunicazione ultraveloci e altamente sicuri, contribuendo a migliorare la resilienza e la sovranità dell'Unione Europea.

LE MISSIONI DEL PROGRAMMA SPAZIALE DELL’UNIONE EUROPEA SONO: l’osservazione terrestre, la navigazione satellitare, la connettività, la ricerca e l’innovazione nell’ambito e la protezione e la sicurezza delle comunicazioni.

COSA FINANZIA

PER IL RAGGIUNGIMENTO DELLE SUE MISSIONI > IL PROGRAMMA DISPONE DELLE SEGUENTI COMPONENTI:

GALILEO - Sistema globale di navigazione satellitare

EGNOS - Servizio Europeo di copertura per la navigazione geostazionaria

COPERNICUS - Sistema di osservazione della Terra

SSA - Conoscenza dell’ambiente spaziale, che comprende le sottocomponenti:

SST: Sistema di sorveglianza dello spazio e tracciamento di oggetti spaziali che orbitano intorno alla Terra;

SWE: Parametri di osservazione relativi a eventi di meteorologia spaziale;

NEO: Monitoraggio del rischio di oggetti vicini alla Terra;

GOVSATCOM: servizio di comunicazioni satellitari.

IRIS² - Infrastruttura per la resilienza, l'interconnettività e la sicurezza via satellite.

IL PROGRAMMA SPAZIALE INCLUDE: misure per rafforzare l’ecosistema spaziale dell’Unione e potenziare il ruolo dell’Unione europea come attore globale.

L’UNIONE EUROPEA STA LAVORANDO A UN APPROCCIO ALLA GESTIONE DEL TRAFFICO SPAZIALE: per garantire la sicurezza e la sostenibilità delle attività spaziali.

FOR GOVSATCOM: the guarantee of reliable, secure and efficient satellite communication services for its users in the long term

SUPPORT FOR ACCESSIBILITY TO SPACE: autonomously, safely and efficiently, in line with the interests of the European Union

PROMOTING A UNION SPACE ECONOMY THROUGH: supporting the space ecosystem and strengthening competitiveness, innovation, entrepreneurship, skills and capacity building

FOR IRIS²: complementarity with GOVSATCOM capabilities for secure connectivity;

SECURITY - RESILIENCE AND AUTONOMY: of the communication services of the European Union;

SOLIDITY AND SAFETY: IT and electromagnetic;

IMPROVEMENT OF THE OTHER COMPONENTS: of the Space Programme;

INNOVATION AND COMPETITIVENESS: in the space sector;

THE PROTECTION OF CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURES AND SUSTAINABILITY: regarding space debris.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

THE MAIN RECIPIENTS OF THE PROGRAM ARE: Public Authorities, businesses and other entities, such as researchers and non-governmental organizations in Europe.

THERE ARE LIMITATIONS ON PARTICIPATION IN SOME COMPONENTS AND/OR SUB-COMPONENTS: in particular with regard to third countries and international organisations, established by community legislation.

AMOUNT OF FINANCING

THE SPACE PROGRAM BUDGET IS 14.8 BILLION EUROS.

THE IRIS² COMPONENT FOR THE PERIOD 2023-2027 HAS 1.65 BILLION EUROS.

THE SPACE PROGRAM: is mainly supported by the Horizon Europe Programme, within the II Pillar.

IMPLEMENTATION TAKES PLACE THROUGH: Procurement, grants and prizes.

THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PROGRAM IS FOLLOWED BY A GOVERNANCE MADE UP OF:
