THE NOTICE AIMS TO CHANGE THE WAYS: of use, research, discovery and experience of data and resources on the internet and on the web, in line with the objectives of the NGI SEARCH project of the European Commission's Next Generation Internet initiative.
THE WINNERS WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NGI EARCH SUPPORT PROGRAM: for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of receiving technical, business and innovation services through support partners and funds for the realization of their projects.
INDIVIDUALS WILL BE ABLE TO RECEIVE FUNDS UP TO €50,000 > WHILE ORGANIZATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED A MAXIMUM OF €150,000.
ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE: Entrepreneurs - Developers - Small and Medium Enterprises - Technology Enthusiasts and Socially Engaged People - Academic Research Groups - Research Institutions - Non-Profit Entities and Other Legal and Physical Entities from EU Member States or Associated States to Horizon Europe, in Single Mode or Grouped in Consortia of up to 3 Members.

WHAT IT DOES DEAL WITH:
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION NEXT GENERATION INTERNET INITIATIVE > AIMS TO SHAPE THE DEVELOPMENT AND EVOLUTION OF THE INTERNET > TOWARDS AN INTERNET OF TRUST: a safer, more open and useful experience for its users. In fact, it responds to the challenge of preserving and improving the Internet and its functions, making it resilient and adaptive to user needs, while respecting European values.
IN QUESTO PERCORSO VERSO L’INTERNET DEL FUTURO > SEMPRE PIÙ INCENTRATO SULLA PERSONA > L’UNIONE EUROPEA INTENDE: Incorporare i suoi valori e le sue norme per l’apertura, la trasparenza, la tutela della privacy, la cooperazione e la protezione dei dati nella proposta dell’internet del futuro, così come espresso dalla Dichiarazione Europea sui diritti e i principi digitali (protezione della privacy, controllo e scelta dell'utente, inclusione e decentramento) - e così come indicato nella Dichiarazione per il futuro di Internet (aperto, libero, globale, interoperabile, affidabile e sicuro).
NGI: Contribuisce allo sviluppo e all'adozione di beni comuni digitali nel settore delle tecnologie Internet.
LA MESSA A PUNTO DEI PRINCIPALI ELEMENTI TECNOLOGICI PER L’INTERNET DI DOMANI: verso un ecosistema di piattaforme interoperabili, permetterà agli utenti di poter scegliere tra una gamma di soluzioni decentralizzate open-source.
A SEGUITO DI UN INVESTIMENTO INIZIALE NEL BIENNIO 2018-2020 > A SUPPORTO DI PIÙ DI 1.000 RICERCATORI E INNOVATORI DI INTERNET IN CENTINAIA DI PROGETTI > L’UNIONE EUROPEA: ha rinnovato il finanziamento per l’iniziativa Next Generation Internet (NGI), a valere su Horizon Europe.
NGI > FORNISCE FINANZIAMENTI E UN ECOSISTEMA AGLI INNOVATORI CON LE IDEE/I PROGETTI PIÙ PROMETTENTI: essa si articola in specifiche azioni che contribuiscono alla logica e la visione generale dell’iniziativa, offrendo anche tutoraggio e supporto al percorso degli innovatori, già a partire dallo sviluppo dell’idea innovativa.
LE AZIONI PREVISTE SONO:
NGI RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACTIONS > NEL PERIODO 2022-2027 > IL 20% DEL BUDGET È DEDICATO ALLA SELEZIONE: monitoraggio, tutoraggio, formazione e costruzione della comunità, mentre l'80%, a Finanziare singoli Progetti tra Individui e/o Organizzazioni di terze parti (cascade funding)
NGI PILOT - INNOVATION ACTIONS > NEL PERIODO 2024-2027 > IN QUESTE AZIONI SARANNO PROPOSTE: Open Call per Finanziare Soggetti Terzi
NGI COORDINATION SUPPORT ACTIONS > CHE GARANTISCONO SINERGIE TRA TUTTI GLI STAKEHOLDER CON UN'ATTENZIONE PARTICOLARE A:
• Attività di sensibilizzazione, creazione di comunità, accelerazione delle imprese
• Policy e Programmazione strategica
• Collaborazione UE-USA/CANADA

COSA FINANZIA:
L’INIZIATIVA NGI È SUPPORTATA PRINCIPALMENTE DAL PROGRAMMA HORIZON EUROPE: nell’ambito del Pilastro, Cluster 4 - Digital, industry and space.
NGI > FINANCES PROJECTS THAT COVER ALL LEVELS OF THE INTERNET: from Open hardware, to network and transport technologies, to firmware, operating systems and virtualization, to electronic identities and middleware, to decentralized ledgers, to productivity tools from software, to traffic supervision tools, to over-the-top Internet and vertical applications.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
THE RECIPIENTS OF NGI PROJECTS ARE: Pioneering researchers, developers, high-tech SMEs and start-ups, specified from time to time in the Notices.
AMOUNT OF FUNDING:
NGI RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACTIONS: CIRCA 80 MILIONI.
THE BUDGET FOR EACH NGI PROJECT: is divided into the relevant calls for tenders.
