Bando ESA: per Progetti Spaziali Innovativi "Diversity - Equity & Inclusion" - Scadenza:26/1/2024"

 THE NOTICE: Aims to explore spatial solutions to address challenges related to Diversity - Equality and Inclusion in Society

As part of the kick-start activities, the NOTICE: “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I)” has been published by the European Space Agency - ESA, with a deadline of 26 January 2024.

THE NOTICE: is aimed at studying the technical feasibility of space technologies and applications that address challenges related to diversity, equality and inclusion in society.


THE PROJECT PROPOSALS MAY REFER TO > THREE THEMES:

IINCLUSIVE CITIES:
• TO DESIGN SAFE AND WELCOMING CITIES FOR ALL: with accessible public spaces and transport services and to have policies promoting diversity and inclusion;

• INCLUSIVE CORPORATE CULTURES AND BUSINESS MODELS: for inclusive business models;

• IINCLUSIVE SOCIETY FOR ELDERLY CITIZENS: for services available for older people. The specificities of this segment of the population, for example accessibility, can be better assessed using satellite images and applications.

THE SPACE TECHNOLOGIES THAT CAN BE USED TO RESPOND TO THESE SOCIETY CHALLENGES ARE:

• SSATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS SATCOM: to ensure universal coverage of digital services for citizens and businesses;

• GGLOBAL NAVIGATION SATELLITE SYSTEMS (GNSS): to improve diversity, equity and inclusion in society by providing people with the tools and resources needed to connect with others;

• SSATELLITE EARTH OBSERVATION SATEO: to improve infrastructure, helping to identify difficulties and improve integration in underserved areas and communities.

YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE NOTICE > COMPANIES ESTABLISHED IN THE FOLLOWING MEMBER STATES: Belgium - Czech Republic - Denmark - Finland - France - Germany - Hungary - Ireland - Italy - Lithuania - Luxembourg - Norway - Poland - Portugal - Romania - Spain - Sweden and the United Kingdom.

ONLY BUSINESS OPERATORS FROM: Germany - Luxembourg and the United Kingdom are exempt from requesting a letter of approval from their National Delegation.
For the remaining countries, a letter of authorization for participation is required.

THE ACTIVITIES: Kick-Start are financed at 75% by the European Space Agency up to a maximum of €60,000 per Contract.
